It’s amusing how if you don’t work in an office from 9-5 and instead choose to be an entrepreneur, people think you don’t work at all and that your life is a big party!
I am writing this article for those people. To let them know that it’s not as rosy as you think. We make this choice because we want to break free from the clichéd way of living.
We want to follow our dreams and passion. And we have the courage within us to take those risks. It’s not that easy a trade off as you imagine. We have our own challenges. As an entrepreneur, the workload can be intense, especially during the early stages when you are the CEO, CFO, sales staff, marketing guru, tech guy & accountant. With all these roles, there’s rarely a moment that you feel your work is “done” for the day. There’s always something more you could be doing, like researching new markets, writing press releases, contacting new media, cold calling new sales outlets, developing new products and the list goes on.
Please appreciate our efforts and next time don’t just dismiss you meet someone who is trying to be different! If you can’t encourage then don’t dampen their spirit either because your choice of words can make a difference.
Successful entrepreneurs achieve hero status in our culture. We idolize the Mark Zuckerbergs but before they made it big, they struggled too.
